The 16 Feb G1 (Minor) Geomagnetic Storming Continues

The 16 Feb G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storming conditions continue. As of 16/2008 UTC (1508 ET) G1 conditions were reached for the fourth, consecutive synoptic period. The G1 Warning is valid until 16/2200 UTC (1700 ET). The geomagnetic storming is the result of effects from a negative polarity coronal hole high speed stream (CH HSS). A G1 Watch remains in effect for the 17 Feb UTC day and the G1 warning may be extended if current conditions continue.
